My First Internet Venture

It was probably 1998. It was my first year of college and the Internet was starting to take off. People were starting to trade stocks online and the biggest ISP was AOL. Back then digital cameras were rare and the only way people could get their pictures online was through a scanner. I decided to buy a scanner from walmart to scan my own pictures.

I then decided to scan pictures for other people for money and started advertising my service in the chat rooms. Surprisingly a few people sent me money in the mail with their picture and I would scan it and email it to them. This wasn’t a very lucrative venture but it showed me that Internet commerce worked and started me on other ideas.
