Many people dream of having one million dollars. Many think they will win the lottery. I will admit I still buy lottery tickets every time I buy gas. When I finished college, my goal was to make $60k a year. I joined the corporate world with a starting salary of $38k a year. As the days went by and I walked the campus of this large company I felt like my life had come to a stand still.

As hard as I worked, I wasn’t making anymore money. Even if I got a raise twice a year, it would be many years before I could amass $1 million dollars. On my drives home I would go by big homes and would think how do these people do it? They must be doing something right to be living in multi million dollar homes. Then I realized there are a few ways to reach this level of financial status. You either are top management of a company, run your own business, inherit the money, real estate investments or stock market.

All of these methods of making a million dollars didn’t include the hourly wage. After 6 months in the corporate world, I was laid off which was perfect timing for me. I was ready to try something new. I started out by setting new goals, after one goal was reached I would set another goal. When I reached my $60k a year goal, I told myself next year I would make $100k, and then $250k, $500k and then $1 million. The longer term goal was to make $1 million by age 30. I achieved this by 27 and not only that I did it in one year. $1 million dollars in a year may seem impossible to some but let me be the first to tell you it can and will happen if you free your mind and think outside the box.

Goal setting is very important. You must know why you are working and what type of goal you are reaching. It’s also important to set realistic goals and do it in baby steps. I wish everyone the best of luck.

Why not share with us with the strong fact on your statement as I couldn’t see how do you make it. Are you talking about your online or offline business that help you achieve your target?

I think people are more interest to find out how you make your 1 Million and what vehicle you use to make it instead of how much you made it…
