I’ve been using both Google Adsense and Yahoo Publisher Network (YPN). I can clearly see why Yahoo as a company is lagging behind Yahoo. Yahoo is just not keeping up and makes it so hard for people to advertise and use the YPN ad program.

First off the YPN program has been in beta for over a year now, how long does it take a billion dollar company to get something off the ground? Keeping people out of the program doesn’t help grow it. Many of my friends have tried to join and most got denied.

YPN does pay more per click but I have noticed this has dropped off substantially in the last 6 months. Although YPN pays more the clicks will be less due to the same ads showing across ad units. YPN just doesn’t have enough advertisers because their ad system sucks. I tried to sign up numerous times and got errors in the process.

I really hope Yahoo improves their system soon.

Yahoo just sucks because they dont make it simple like Google. An advertiser can advertise his ad on Google’s ad network within 10 minutes, but on Yahoo’s network the ad has to go throguh screening and it takes like 2-3 days. In the business world no one has time to wait and Yahoo will fail if they keep this up any longer.
