I don’t remember much from college, but I remember a video one of my professors showed the class.

It was a video called “Triumph of the Nerds”. There was a part that the professor froze and said if you don’t remember anything from college remember this quote. It was from a 10 year old boy name Edwin Chin. Here is part of the transcript from the video:

Q: What do your friends think of you?
Edwin: Boy, he’s a nerd. Yeah, but I don’t mind, I’m used to being called a nerd, can’t have other people stop your dreams.

Not letting others stop your dreams is a very important thing to keep in mind when you’re venturing out in business. Many kids are raised and often pressured to live out their parents dreams or pushed into careers that they believe would make their parents happy. I believe you should live out your dreams and repay your family with the monetary benefits from your work.

When I started running my on line business many people did not view my job as “real” and often told me to go get a traditional 9-5 job. I always went back to this quote to keep me going. We are going to face many road blocks in our lives but I believe if you have the courage to run them over, you will eventually get to your destination. I wish you all the best.

    Aaaw.. I love this entry!!!
Yeah, you said it right, about how most kids are pressured to live out their parents’ dreams.
The only thing I wish I have is that “stand” on what I really want. Because I’m really confused on what path to take, if I’m taking the right degree and what do I really want to do for the rest of my life. It’s hard to make decisions if it’s all a blur in your head.
